DESCRIPTION
Actually, this will be not so much part 2 as the actual talk I was intending when I wrote this title last week. Then, I had the idea that I would talk about meditation and the nervous system, and ended up talking about Kuan Yin, listening, and the magic of stillness. So that’s actually a lovely way to do nervous system part one.
Tonight we’ll look at the physiological side of ANS process, and I’ll review some of the core principles in the contemporary language used by somatics and trauma work: activation-deactivation, threshold, window of tolerance, and the polyvagal model. We’ll see how far we get.
